been busy for a good while now with work ( bringing a steel plant back on )but I'm still hanging in with the chilli foods ! made some pickled onions with some dried Bhuts I had , turned out quite nice with a good kick. Knocked a few regulars over in the bar of the local !! they never learn Ha Ha Ha .
Also got some hot sauce waiting in the freezer just needs reheating and a bit of sugar then bottling .

    Hi All

Best way i have found if you can't keep a distance between the plants is to "bag" the flower with a very fine material (like the one that is used on net curtains but finer) and leave it covered until the chilli starts to grow. make sure you have enough room in the "bag" for the flower to open and also the chilli to start growing. label the stalk of the pod so you know this one (or as many as you want to do) is the one to keep the seed from

    Cheers

    Ivor

You can use a tea bag just cut the corner off of it and empty the tea into a pot or tin fro a cuppa later then pop the emptyed tea bag over the flower and tie with cotton or twisters and Bobs your uncle flower is isolated this is done before the flower is open and with an unused tea bag. 100% pure seed

    good tip there.

  • chillimik created a new topic Scotch Bonnet in the forums.
This is a plant that I bought from Tesco when they were getting rid of them. I put it in a bucket with some mixed used and new compost that had growmore granules in.

It has done well and has more flowers and fruit that I can count !

  • chillimik replied to the topic Re: Flowers keep dropping off in the forums.
could be that because you potted it on into a bigger pot, it is now putting it's energy into growing it's roots (because it has more space ) This could result in it shedding flowers that are taking energy away from it's root growth !
